These terms summarise how bookings with Rwanda Gorilla Permits (operated by Rwanda Safari Tours, Kigali) work. Your written quote and booking confirmation set out the specific conditions for your trip and take precedence where they differ.
Gorilla permits
- Gorilla permits are issued by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and are subject to RDB's rules, which may change.
- Permits must be paid in full to be secured. We book the permit only after receiving payment.
- Permits are issued in each trekker's name using passport details, and are not transferable.
- Permits are generally non-refundable once issued. Date changes may be requested but depend on RDB approval and availability.
- Trekkers must be 15 or older on the day of the trek. RDB may refuse entry to trekkers who appear unwell; this is not grounds for a refund.
Tour services
- Services (transport, guiding, meals, accommodation) are described in your quote. Prices are per person in US dollars unless stated otherwise.
- For multi-day trips we take a deposit with the permit payment; the balance is due before arrival, as stated in your quote.
- Cancellation terms for tour services and accommodation are set out in your quote, as lodges apply their own policies.
Changes by us
Occasionally we may need to change a vehicle, guide, lodge or timing for reasons beyond our control, such as weather, road conditions or park decisions. We will always provide an equivalent or better alternative and tell you as soon as possible.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate passport details for permits.
- Hold a valid passport, visa and any required vaccination certificates.
- Have travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation and cancellation.
- Follow the instructions of RDB rangers and our guides at all times.
